John received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1988. Was ordained as a Deacon at 1st Corinthian Baptist Church in 1989. Relocated to Houston, Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he was ordained as a minister of the Gospel in 1991. Served as Bible study teacher at that location for 10 years. Relocated to Sacul Texas to build a Christian retreat center. Operated the center for 10 years. Served as associate minister at Hopewell Mt Zion Baptist for 1 year. Served as Interim Pastor, Sweet Union Baptist Church for one year. Currently serving at Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship. At this location I have served as Interim Pastor during the selection of a new Pastor. Currently serve as Executive Pastor with total operations responsibility. Began his official studies to become a Christian Counselor in 2000. Received his certification as a Christian Counselor in 2011. Prior to and during this process, have completed over 500 hours of office counseling. He is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Present duties, Director, Finance Committee; Wednesday Bible Study Teacher; Sunday Young Adult Life Group Teacher, and Lay Counselor Instructor. John has been married to Linda M. Davis for over 27 years. They have one daughter, JoAnna, who will be serving in full time ministry in Des Moines, Iowa in February 2018. They jointly serve God’s people in any way that He directs. John has four (4) other children, Alicia, Shan, Kevin, and Jonathan who are all grown. His two sons, Shan & Kevin, serve as Ministers of the Gospel.
